Wax & Wine III - encaustic workshop

Wax and Wine III. This is the perfect class for anyone new to encaustic - painting with beeswax. In Walla Walla Wine Country, it includes all supplies, materials and an evening wine reception.

Day one, Friday, you will be introduced to the basics of painting with pigmented wax, including fusing, incising and layering. We will delve into the myriad of ways to manipulate the wax through collage, stenciling and imbedding, as well as learning photo transfers. 

Day two and three, Saturday and Sunday, you will continue to create, with additional demos/techniques.  We will also experiment with 3 D sculpture, building forms on Saturday, and waxing them on Sunday.

Beginners welcome and students with experience, come broaden your skill set and share your knowledge with the class.

Saturday night (after class until 10pm) we’ll enjoy a wine reception at the Dayton River Retreat in Dayton, 235 East Main St Dayton WA, just 20 minutes outside of Waitsburg.
