Night of the Living Dead (1968) & Costume Contest

  • 31 Oct 2017
  • 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Gesa Powerhouse Theater

Gesa Power House Theatre will screen a classic horror film, followed by a costume contest and after party this Halloween, Tuesday, Oct 31 starting at 7 PM.

George R. Romero’s 1968 film “Night of the Living Dead” is a cult classic credited with popularizing the concept of “zombies” as we think of them today. It was criticized at the time for its explicitly gory special effects, and ushered in a new wave of “splatter” horror films. The film’s plot follows a group of characters who barricade themselves in an old farmhouse in an attempt to remain safe from flesh eating monsters – the dead come back to life.

Costumes will be judged following the screening at approximately 8:45 PM. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in the categories of Best Costume, Funniest, Most Original and Sexiest. Anyone in costume will receive drink discounts all night.
