Event Details
An Enemy of the People By: Arthur Miller, adapted from Henrik Ibsen’s play Dr. Stockmann discovers proof that the waters of the local medicinal springs are poisoned. He immediately reports to his associates, but is shocked to find that instead of being thanked, he is labeled as dangerous, and branded as motivated only by a desire to prove that his fellow townspeople are wrong, and to bring ruin upon them. Every weapon is brought against him in an effort to silence this inconvenient truth. The determined doctor comes to realize that the honesty and idealism he has counted upon to make the truth prevail, simply does not exist in the face of selfish "practical" interests.
