The Little Theatre of Walla Walla, 1130 E. Sumach St., will hold auditions Tuesday and Wednesday for the drama “Crimes of the Heart” by Beth Henley.
Stacie Trego and Douglas Carlsen will direct and Barb McKinney and Jeremy Reed will produce.
Roles are available for four female characters and two male characters.
Open auditions will be from 7-9 p.m. both days.
In the Pulitzer Prize-winning story, three sisters gather in their small Mississippi hometown awaiting news of their grandfather who is dying in a local hospital.
Eldest Lenny is unmarried and never left home. Middle sister Meg pursued stardom in Los Angeles, but so far only found happiness at the bottom of a bottle.
Babe, the youngest, has just been arrested for shooting her husband. Past resentments bubble to the surface, and each sister must come to terms with the consequences of her own “crimes of the heart” in ways that enable them to redefine themselves as strong, independent women.
“Crimes of the Heart” is produced with permission of Samuel French. Performances will be May 24-25 and 31 and June 1-2, 7-9. For more information call 509-529-3683.
The audition process is casual and people of all levels of experience, ethnicity and physical ability are encouraged to participate.
Prospective actors should arrive a few minutes early to fill out paperwork and will take turns reading from provided short scenes.
An all-volunteer nonprofit organization, Little Theatre has produced live theater in Walla Walla since 1944.
