Image may contain: one or more people and textOctober 12, 2019 is Valley Residential Service’s Fourth Annual Dancing with the W2 Stars Event! We’re so excited to have you join us for a night of dancing and fun! Local participants will be paired with professional dancers and have a week of rehearsals to learn a ballroom dance routine before the live performance and a judging panel.

In addition to seeing the Walla Walla Stars dance, the professionals teaching the stars will perform excerpts from their award-winning showcase “Ballroom Fever”. Audiences can expect to see breath-taking lifts, hundreds of costumes, theatrical story lines, and a variety of ballroom dance styles, from the sexy Cuban Salsa to the energetic American Swing to the elegant Viennese Waltz.
The professional dance ensemble are members of the United States National Formation Championship company in both Latin American and Standard ballroom dancing, and their company tours internationally, with more than 100 performances each year.
Valley Residential Services is a community based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since 1982, we’ve offered supported living, transitional housing and family support opportunities in Walla Walla and Columbia Counties. Our programs include:
Supported LivingProvides support to people with developmental disabilities who live in their own homes in the communities of Walla Walla, College Place, and Dayton. Supported Living provides up to 24 hours a day of staff support to our clients, helping them in achieving their personal goals through a Person Centered Service Plan. This plan enables people with developmental/intellectual disabilities to be fully involved in their lives and in their communities, and focuses on Competence, Health and Safety, Integration, Relationships, and Power and Choice, and Status. Clients who receive services in our Supported Living Program live full and exciting lives! Relatives and friends are also very involved in our Supported Living clients’ lives, and VRS encourages and provides activities in the community and in neighboring communities for our Supported Living clients.Corps of Recovery DiscoveryIs a Transitional housing program for homeless veterans, and provides housing and case management services for up to 34 homeless veterans in Walla Walla and College Place.
CORD clients also have access to the CORD Community Center, which has a large shop that holds an auto/metal working and woodworking shop, a music/relaxation room, screen-printing area, and coffee shop. CORD clients each develop a Person-Centered Recovery Plan to help each veteran transition back into the community equipped with the skills and resources to succeed at whatever goals they set for themselves. Clients in the CORD program are encouraged to stay connected in some way with CORD when they “graduate” from the CORD program, and there is outreach and activities available for CORD graduates when they move into their own residences in the community. CORD clients have often showed gratitude for this very supportive program, and have consistently talked about CORD “saving my life”.

Family SupportProvides Supervised Visits and Transportation between children who are in out-of-home placement and their biological parents. During the dependency process, many parents regain custody of their children and the bond has been maintained through the visitation process. VRS also does Parenting Skills Instruction for clients of the Division of Children and Family Services, utilizing the Positive Parenting Program (PPP) for which VRS has a Certified PPP provider.#@#_WA_-_CURSOR_-_POINT_#@# For more information regarding Valley Residential Services or Dancing with the W2 Stars, you can reach us at
