“The older the violin, the sweeter the music.” This famous line helped author Larry McMurtry win the 1986 Pulitzer Prize for fiction for his novel, Lonesome Dove. But is it true? Much alchemy goes into the making of a great violin. Is it the wood? The age? The maker? The varnish? In short, yes. All of these things contribute to the sound of a great violin. . They will be joined by six of the finest violinists in North America.
