ArtSquared is a unique fundraiser hosted by ArtWalla to support their mission of enhancing arts education and opportunities in the Walla Walla Valley.

Registration for the 14th Annual ArtSquared opens Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

ArtSquared invites 140 artists to create eight works of art on 6”x6” wooden panels. These works will be sold in person at CAVU Cellars, September 25, 2026 and remain on sale through Sunday, September 27, 2026.

All works will sell for $36, with $24 of each sale going to the artist and $12 to ArtWalla. Artist may choose to donate 100% of their proceeds to ArtWalla, these donations are greatly appreciated and make up the majority of all funds raised to support ArtWalla's mission of supporting local artists. * Artists supporting artists

The eight, 6”x6” wood panels are provided by ArtWalla and are included in the registration fee. Registration for artists will be available online at www.artwalla.com, beginning April, 1, 2026 and will close on April 15th.

Eligibility:

ArtSquared is open to all artists 18 years or older in any medium.

Registration Fee:

$15 for ArtWalla members of Working Artist Level and above. If you are a member, please make sure that your membership is up-to-date prior to registering for the event. This must be done as a separate transaction, otherwise, you will have to register as a non-member.

$40 for Non-members - if you are not a member this is a great time to consider joining ArtWalla as a Working Artist!

If you want your panels shipped, register with the additional $25.00 shipping option. This option includes shipping to you the blank panels for your artwork and also returning unsold panels after the event concludes.

Payment can be made online during the registration process or an invoice can be printed and mailed in along with payment. Mail-in payment must be received by April 15, 2026, or the registration will be canceled and filled by waitlisted artists.

Registration for this event fills up very quickly so be sure to sign up on the opening date, April 1.

Registered artists will be allowed to enter a larger format piece in the gallery show which will hang in the CAVU gallery from September 25th - October 31st. The artist can price the artwork per their normal pricing and a 20% commission will be deducted from any sale.

Rooted in the rich traditions of Panamá, a crisol de razas (an immigration program), the band’s sound is an embodiment of those diverse cultures, and its music encompasses the entirety of the Americas. The band interweaves styles as divergent as cumbia and blues, salsa, soul, and rock’n’roll – all boiled down into their own original sound.

Join Gesa Power House Theatre on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 6PM for a reception and screening of Northwest Film Forum/Unincarcerated Productions’ Justice Media FilmFest.

Justice Media FilmFest is a one-night celebration of justice-centered storytelling, presented in partnership with the San Quentin Prison Film Festival and featuring short films from the past year’s festival and the premiere of Lockdown, a narrative short written and co-directed by incarcerated participants in the Inside/Out Media Lab at the Washington State Penitentiary. Some of the justice-impacted filmmakers will be in attendance and speaking about their work, and there will be special video messages from the currently incarcerated filmmakers as well.

Doors will open at 6:00pm for a reception, followed by film screening at 7:00PM.

The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience (Friday, April 24, 2026)

The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience (THHOE) doesn’t remix genres—it invents a new one. Equal parts symphony, dance party, and underground club night, THHOE fuses the structural rigor of classical with the raw energy of hip-hop, creating a new genre of live performance.

Led by composer/pianist JooWan Kim, the project features MCs, a lyric soprano, and a full orchestra of winds, brass, strings, piano, and drums. Every note is fully scored and original— weaving canons, fugues, and symphonic textures into rapid-fire rhymes, rap cyphers, and hip-hop dance circles that spill into the audience. The result feels like live film music or street opera: dramatic, immersive, and completely unexpected.

Pitchfork calls it “textures swimming through the sound…like the world’s fastest ping-pong game” and Huffington Post claims it as “the cutting edge of hip-hop.” THHOE has earned international attention from BBC, NPR, PBS, Wall Street Journal, ESPN, and more.

The Sunny Hours in concert (Saturday, April 25, 2026)

The music – from The Sunny Hours new, original musical – tells the story of a bright and determined high school girl in swing-era Seattle, Catherine, who plans a future that bucks the convention of her times.

This is a charming story, based on real Washingtonians, and crafted by Washington State talent. The Book and Lyrics are by Tri-Cities native Eileen Voiland; music written by Seattle-based composers Nancy Erickson Lamont and Shawn Schlogel.

The concert will be performed by Tri-Cities WA based group Adrienne Fletcher, Hannah Evans, Samantha Gustafson, Ted Miller, Jason Morgan and Julie Wiley, most of whom originated roles in The Sunny Hours Tri-Cities premiere, and are very excited to be performing on the wonderful Gesa Power House Theatre stage!

Gesa Power House Theatre is humbled to welcome The Aunties to our stage on Saturday, May 9 at 7PM for a contemporary Indigenous storytelling experience. This programming is brought to you in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from the Washington Stories Fund grant at Humanities Washington, ArtWalla Art Builds Community Grant, the Betty Kinsman Fund at The Kinsman Foundation, and a Spark Good Local Grant from Walmart #2492. This event is also sponsored by Friends of the Theatre.

The Aunties is an invitation to come together to honor the women that shape, heal, and uphold Indigenous communities through an evening of contemporary storytelling, shared live from the stage alongside familial and archival photographs and works of legacy. The Aunties project is shared at sites across the Blue Mountain region, featuring stories by Indigenous women who call the local area their home and who have dedicated their life’s work in service to their community. We come together to honor the contributions and enduring legacy of Native women, whose stories inspire new narratives and guide new generations of leaders. We join in community to reflect on our collective history to nurture hope for a brighter future.

Storytelling from the live performance will be preserved on film to become the heart of a narrative-driven documentary series that captures the artistic, cultural, and visual integrity of the places and people from which auntie stories emerge.
