Registration

  • Learn watercolor and oil pastel techniques by capturing the beauty of nature and local artwork. You will develop drawing and painting skills, learn about various artists working with these materials, then practice outside in Whitman College’s natural setting and among its sculptural works.

Instructor: Kynde Kiefel, Art Manager & Curator, Sheehan Gallery, Whitman College
  • Participants will have a chance to learn about several different types of printmaking with hands-on experiences each day. They will design their plates, learn about how to apply inks and then have the fun of printing them and seeing the final artwork when they lift the paper to reveal the images.

Instructor: Tricia Harding, local mixed media artist and Carnegie Picture Lab volunteer
  • Picture Lab is partnering with ArtWalla for a two-day youth ArtSquared inspired workshop. Participating artists will be provided two 6x6 wood squares (just like the adult ArtSquared artists use), and they will learn and create their own unique works using acrylic painting and mixed media techniques.

Instructor: Rachel Smith, Asst. Professor of Art at Columbia Basin College & local artist
