June First Friday Art Tour Pop-up 2023 (4)

Created on: 26 May 2023
Item 1 Albert Einstein
My latest portrait is of Albert Einstein, done in a festive style, with a colorful shirt of reds, greens, and blues replacing his iconic gray sweater. I've reflected these tones in his face and hair.

Item 2 Ruth Bader Ginsburg
recently painted this portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsburg to depict her as she was upon her appointment to the Supreme Court. In the painting, I used a soft pink background with a palette of greens and yellows. RBG is facing left but with her head turned slightly to the right.

Item 3 Martin Luther King
recently painted a portrait of Martin Luther King, Jr., using an unusual palette with blue tones and accents of green and yellow. In the portrait, MLK stands up straight and looks directly at the viewer.

Item 4 James Lawson
After attending a graduation at Vanderbilt University, I was inspired to paint a portrait of James Lawson, a civil rights leader who had a profound impact during the 1960s. As a mentor to the Nashville Student Movement and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, his contributions were essential to the fight for racial justice and equality.
