Art21 Virtual Teacher Workshop: Textiles: From Farm to Table

Join us for a conversation on textiles! From the cultivation of fibers for weaving to their role in developing the first computer, textiles have an interdisciplinary history. During this workshop we will learn how contemporary artists use textiles to further explore weaving as a traditional practice, emphasizing the labor behind making cloth, and how artists draw on the history of textile innovations to inform their work today. Through watching films and discussion, participants will learn how artists think about and work with textiles.
