Walla Walla University Department of Visual Arts:  Past, Present, Future

featuring the work of faculty serving the department over the years.

"This fall, the Walla Walla University’s Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery will showcase a variety of beautiful artwork created by former and current WWU faculty members. In November, the Department of Visual arts will also be hosting a two-part discussion panel where some of those artists will take a look at who they are as individuals and as a group. Both events will be free and open to the public.

Panel discussion one will delve into the past to better understand where the Department of Visual Arts stands today. It will include retired professor Matt Pierce, instructor of ceramics Steve Miller, and will be moderated by Dan Lamberton, former professor of English and Director of the Humanities Program.

Panel discussion two will look to the present and future of visual arts on campus. Participants will include professor of design Brent Bergherm, professor of film and visual arts Jerry Hartman, and visual arts department chair Joel Libby, with instructor of graphic design Josie Henderson, as moderator.

The first panel discussion will take place on Tuesday, November 12, and the second on Monday, November 18. Both will be held in the Melvin K. West Fine Arts Center (FAC) auditorium, 204 S. College Ave., College Place, at 6 p.m., and will serve light refreshments and beverages.

The Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery, located in the FAC, will be open to visitors from October 17 to December 13, 2024. Hours will include Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1 p.m.–5 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m.–12 p.m."
