Artist Statement:

This series of artwork is ECLECTIC.  It’s a reflection of what surely inspires me. A lifelong love for jazz from my inner-city upbringing sparks my interest to create scenes of musicians in smoky jazz clubs.  Rural living draws me to nature’s resilience in spite of encroaching on human influences.  My paintings of Chinese Pioneers of the Western Frontier are inspired by a desire to interpret their legacy in America’s history.   

My artistic pursuits are painting, mixed media, sculpture, and writing and illustrating graphic novels.  My creations invite curiosity, inquiry, humor, and whimsy.  I’m a past recipient of the Artist Trust GAP Award and Dan Dunn Memorial Grant and received best of show at the Pendleton Center for the Arts 2023 Regional Exhibition.  I reside in Walla Walla, Washington.
