ArtWalla's Arts Education Grants seek to enrich artistic vitality and artistic opportunities within our valley. Our goal is simple: to serve as a catalyst, fostering opportunities for artists and non-profit arts and culture organizations to enhance their skills and programs.
Walla Walla has a unique artistic and creative scene and ArtWalla recognizes that in order to foster and grow this creative spirit funds are needed to support new programs and individual educational opportunities. To this end, ArtWalla prioritizes funding from our membership dues and annual fundraisers to provide grants for these efforts. In essence the community and artists are supporting the importance of funding to grow and enhance our vibrant art scene.
ArtWalla offers two different grants each year, The Dan Dunn Memorial Grant for individual artists in any discipline, and the Arts Build Community Grants for arts, culture, and educational institutions providing arts education programming to our community.
ArtWalla recognizes that the arts community is unequal. There are historical and structural obstacles to accessing art resources and funding opportunities for Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) in addition to other artists’ identity, such as ability, age, citizenship, discipline, economic status, education, gender, and sexuality. With equity and diversity of lived experiences as a priority, artists and arts organizations centering these identities are highly encouraged to apply.
