Alison Bechdel, author the long running comic strip 'Dykes To Watch Out For' and two semi-autobiographical graphic novels, 'Fun Home' and 'Are You My Mother?' will provide a lecture open to the public on Friday October 23 at 5:30pm at Whitman college.
A book signing will follow the lecture and the Sheehan gallery will be open to the public.
Whitman College's Sheehan gallery features a semester long exhibit, "Seeing Stories," which includes many internationally recognized graphic author/artists such as Alison Bechdel, Craig Thompson, Joe Sacco, Chris Ware, Lynda Barry, Shimura Takako, Neil Gaiman, R. Crumb, and Emily Carroll as well as the collaborative work of French artists Regis Loisel & Jean-Louis Tripp in "Magasin Generale." Additionally the exhibit features 16 "Colonial Comics" artists, telling snippets of American history through drawing.
