Foundry Vineyards is pleased to announce “Land of Origin” by James Lavadour. The exhibition will be run from Feb 16 – April 22, 2018. The opening reception will be held Feb 16 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Lavadour will give a talk at 6:30 PM.
James Lavadour, one of Oregon's most respected artists, has selected six paintings to exhibit at Foundry Vineyards. Born near Pendleton (b. 1951), Lavadour resides on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation
and is co-founder of the Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts, a non-profit art facility for Native artists. Lavadour's paintings celebrate the Blue Mountains and the surrounding areas of his homeland. His work reflects an emotional relationship with and intense reverence for the land. His art is heavily informed not only by his Native culture, but also Asian art, Abstract Expressionism, and jazz music.
